Midwestern
sidebooms have lifting capacities ranging from 10,000 to 200,000
pounds (4.5 to 90 metric tons) and feature a simplified control
system that greatly reduces operator training time and increases
operator safety. Sidebooms with counterweights and hydraulic
conversion kits are available for either new or older-model
tractors. Midwestern also designs and manufactures hydrostatic
fill and test pumps and hydraulic tail-end-mounted winches.
Midwestern’s sidebooms are manufactured, installed, and tested to meet the requirements outlined in ANSI/AMSE B30.14-2004 for sideboom tractors. Capacity ratings are made with the tractor on flat, level ground with the rating load hanging from the load-line hook per SAE J743-92. All Midwestern structural welding complies with the American Welding Society (AWS) Code Welding Earthmoving and Construction Equipment D14.3-94.
